THE! Event! is here!
Coffee’s brewing. ( I NEED it.)
A little Yes is blasting on my player for inspiration.
Birdies are smokin’:
so, apparently, is the trash can:
and also The Husband:
Pumpkin Plum Tart is fresh out of the oven:
Appies are all made:
Oh, and a last minute Pumpkin Pie Spread:
Relatives and Side dishes are on the way (phew!).
Wine is chilling.
The canopy has been nixed by yours truly. The food is more important, right? Who needs a canopy, anyway. [sniff]
House has been cleaned. (the Husband is vacuuming right this moment, actually! Awwww…..)
A little special something was made for my guests and is ready.
All I need to do is set up the tables, lay out the the appetizers, make tea and the Apple Galettes,
and then EAT.
Phew! I think we made it!
Hope your THE! Event! is memorable and just awesome.
We all have so much to be thankful for!
Oh, And here’s that Pumpkin Pie Spread Recipe:
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 15 ounces solid-pack pumpkin
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- dash cloves
- handful mini marshmallows
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
Whisk cream cheese in a large bowl until smooth. Add pumpkin, brown sugar and spices.
Spoon into a small oven-safe dish
Top with mallows and pecans.
Bake about 15 minutes, until marshmallows are golden brown.
Best serves with apple slices. Or a spoon.
Happy Thanksgiving, friends.
