Monday Mixology: The Espressotini

When I read that this week’s IMBB? Monday Mixology was all about coffee, and graciously hosted by The Art of Drink, I was IN!!!

Coffee?
Cocktail?
Coffee Cocktail?

Yesssssssssssss!!! (A little Napoleon Dynamite for you there.)

Presenting:
The Espressotini

This one will keep you going all night! No, really! It’s late and I am AWAKE!!! Yeah, baby! With two kids, late and awake are no longer synonymous words in our vocabulary.
This drink may change all that.

Here is why:

One shot really good (REALLY GOOD!!) Espresso, cooled
(I personally love Starbuck’s Espresso Roast- rich & smooth!)
1/2 shot Kahlua
1 shot vodka
Cracked Ice

Shake vigorously and strain into a perfect martini glass and perfecto!

I was pleased to note the light foam this coffee cocktail offered- a perfect “garnish”, don’t you think? Smooth, carameley (my own new word! hiccup!) and a fine finish to our lasagne dinner this evening.

  1. float a couple espresso beans on top!

and i bet Starbucks would appreciate a plug for their coffee liqueur here…i personally think it’s superior to kahlua, goes down smoother.

  2. yep, these go down pretty quick! πŸ™‚

ok, OK!!! i did not have ANY whole coffee beans in the house, so i missed out on pleasing the masses here – SORRY. πŸ™‚ next time….

and yes, the s’buck’s coffee liqueur could get a plug from me ANY DAY, folks. super good schtuff there! i just could not justify purchasing a bottle when i am still working through my costco-sized bottle of kahlua… ahem!
